NAV 2013: Certification requirements updated!

Do you remember this post: NAV 2013: Certification overview ?

Well, there is a small update that I would like to share with you. Today Microsoft confirmed that the necessary SQL 2012 certification is only needed from October 2013 (instead of May 2013 as previously stated).

I guess that’s a good thing, isn’t it? 😉

Read how to get Microsoft’s official communication below in the comments ..

    Hi

As usual the MS site is the last place certification information is updated.
Do you have anything official from MS on postponement of the SQL Server requirment?
    Thanks for sharing

  1. It was confirmed by my TSAM at Microsoft .. . He also said that the website was going to be updated as well .. but you’re right, it still isn’t. I’m going to contact him about this and keep you posted!

  2. You don’t wanna know .. :-/.

It will be changed on the website in October.
In the meantime .. on this page:
    https://mspartner.microsoft.com/nl/be/Pages/Membership/enterprise-resource-planning-competency-requirements-gold.aspx
there is a reference to “Review the changes”, which gets you to this document:
    https://mspartner.microsoft.com/nl/be/Pages/Membership/Downloads/Microsoft-Partner-Network-Competency-Roadmap.aspx
IN this document, on page 43, there is the title “Effective October 2013”. Scroll down to page 44 voor NAV (Option 3) where it says “Exams to be retired” and references to: “Exam 70-432: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Implementation and Maintenance (Previously communicated to be retired May 2013.)”

    Oh
    My
    God

what an unbelievable inconsistent and unclear official communication is that .. :-/. But there you have it .. 😉

  1. […] From May 2013, the SQL exam you need, should be from “SQL Server 2012″ (this has been updated.  Read here) […]
