The Hooks Pattern

You remember NAVTechDays, right? The place where a lot begins, and a lot happens. 🙂 Well, I explained in my wrap-up of NAVTechDays2013 that there was (some) attention on something called “The Hooks Pattern”. Because of that – I dedicated a topic, specifically on the Hooks-pattern (which was also handled during our Pre-Conference Day workshop …

NAV 2013 R2: Powershell function to check if ServerInstance is Multitenant or not

Hi, to end the year with – here is a small tip. I’m working on improving the Backup/Restore procedure from this blogpost .. . While doing that, I was looking for a way to see whether my current instance was actually a Multitenant-server or not. In a way, I had to be able to read …

Dutch Dynamics Community Event – December 10th

A little bit of advertisement never hurts :-). On December 10th, the DDC (Dutch Dynamics Community) is organizing its next event. I really love the way they are handling stuff: really down-to-earth evening events with real content. And that’s what I expect from this event as well. Well .. I do have some of the …

A very short blogpost .. cause today, I have other things to do (which will become clear in the near future ;-)). Today, Per Mogensen put on facebook that he was downloading the RTM version of NAV 2013 R2 .. and also mentioned that BE was not among them .. to tease me(?). I read …

Platform updates overview – NAV2013

When I was documenting the platform updates, I realized that there aren’t that many platform updates for NAV2009 anymore. Therefore, I decided to create a new page for it on the menu above on this blog. You can find it here now (Above menu / Dynamics NAV / Platform Updates / NAV2009..).

For NAV2013, there ARE (quite) a few new updates, so please do check this list when you have problems.

Last month, I have been in contact with Microsoft for a problem I documented a while ago, about CurrFieldNo behaving quite strange. I came across the same issues when creating a new product for iFacto, and I took a chance in reporting it once again. It doesn’t make sense to work around issues when trying to implement decent architecture, does it? Well, it resulted into a bugfix, but it hasn’t been made public, yet. In the meanwhile, this is going to be the link where the upgrade will come: https://mbs2.microsoft.com/Knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;2888350.

For the rest: enjoy!

Directions EMEA is over (and there is much to talk about – since NAV2013R2 is bloggable now;-)). Directions US is coming, but I’m not taking part of that either – because of my son being born and such ;-). But what I AM going to take part of, is this year’s NAV TechDays on the …
